The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) is a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian organisation working to assist in the reconstruction of Afghanistan. SCA’s interventions inside Afghanistan began in 1982. Today SCA runs four major development programmes within Disability, Education, Health and Rural Development and is one of the largest NGOs in the country. Over two million Afghans benefit from SCA’s programmes every year.

Job Description
• Provide direct patient care.
• Provide curative service to patients according to BPHS
• Support the provision of primary health care within the community
• Comply with IMCI diagnostic and treatment protocols.
• Provide appropriate patient education.
• Report immediately suspected epidemic disease.
• Will develop good understanding of BPHS strategy and help other staff aware about the same
• Will Respect all MoPH rules and regulations pertaining to staff
• Will provide direct Nursing care, dressing and injection
• Will comply with MoPH MCH protocols
• Will help the midwife in delivery
• Will help the female doctor in consultation
• Will comply with MoPH EPI protocols, and cross train in vaccinations
• Will conduct growth monitoring
• Will provide appropriate patient education
• Will conduct MoPH community health education sessions
• Will monitor and document the used clinic supplies re-order clinic supplies per protocol
• Will identify and report immediately any problems that may interfere in achieving program objectives
• Will Dispose of all sharp and glass waste in a safe manner according to the guidelines
• Will take any other relevant responsibilities given by the Health facility supervisor

• Medical doctor
• Must be fluent in local languages (Pashto and Dari)
• Some English desirable
• Previous nursing experience
• Previous MCH experience desirable
• At least two years experience
• Previous BPHS experience will be an advantage
• A willingness to learn new skills
• Self motivated
• Good team work spirit
